Government cuts to the health budget are impacting on patients
Shadow Minister for Health Sean L’Estrange said the McGowan Government had effectively ripped $300 million in funding from the North Metropolitan Health Service budget which was having an impact on service delivery.
“After just 18 months of the McGowan Government, ambulance ramping has soared, surgical wait lists have blown out, emergency department waiting times have deteriorated and there are hundreds of children waiting more than a year to see an ear nose and throat specialist,” Mr L’Estrange said.
“The Government is failing its own key performance indicators when it comes to health.”
Mr L’Estrange said Health Minister Roger Cook must be up front with the people of Western Australia and explain why and where he was making these significant budget cuts which would have a negative impact on patients.
